Sandbox Days 2011
Sandbox Days is an annual fundraiser where we deliver sand to raise money for charity. This year’s event occurred on Saturday, May 21st, 2011. We had several teams delivering sand to children’s sandboxes, local daycares, and even school playgrounds. The sand is donated from Rowe Construction, and the truck is donated from Johnston Contractors.
The impact on the Bloomington-Normal Jaycees is amazing! Everyone has a wonderful time delivering sand to children all over the community, and the kids we deliver to are very excited.
With the help of 6 Jaycees, 2 junior Jaycees (Jeremy and Dan’s sons) and Dale Kelley of Johnston Contractors we were able to raise approximately $850 for the Autism Society of McLean County. We delivered 54 wheelbarrows of sand to customers this year. With beautiful sunny skies we had a great time delivering sand to the kids of Bloomington and Normal. This would not have been possible without the generous support of Johnston Contractors and Rowe Construction. Looking forward to next spring!
Please ask your co-workers, family, friends and neighbors if they would like to benefit from this great fundraiser in the future.
Cost is $15 for the first wheelbarrow load and $10 for each additional. Location must be within Bloomington-Normal. Orders for next year can be called into (309) 319-6107 or emailed to bnjaycees@gmail.com
