Our Doggie Easter Egg Hunt is back again this year! We had such a great time with this event last year, and we raised so much money for local animal shelters, that we had to do it again. Saturday, March 19th from 2-4 p.m., come out with your dogs to Maxwell Park in Normal. The price for entry is $5 per dog. Maxwell Park has two fenced in areas where dogs are allowed to run around without being tethered by leashes. The egg hunts will take place in the fenced in areas, but we’ll also have a lot of other activities around. Here’s a rundown of what you can expect:
Doggie Easter Egg Hunt
The two fenced in areas will have scattered plastic Easter eggs filled with dog treats. Pet owners are encouraged to let their dogs sniff out the prizes, and help get the treat out of the egg for their pup to eat up.
The animal centered non-profits who are sponsoring this event will have representatives on hand so you can learn more about the importance of donations and what they are used for. The proceeds of the Doggie Easter Egg Hunt are given to the sponsors to help continue their great work with animals.
Professional Pet Photography
Professional Pet Photographer Angel Sallade will be on location to take photos of you, your dog(s), and a life-size Easter Bunny! After the event, the photos will be viewable and available for purchase online.
Normal Police Department K-9 Unit
These trained dogs are friendly around the general public, come meet them and the officers who handle them. You can learn what it takes to keep your community safe with the help of brave canines.
Stop by Maxwell Park on Saturday, March 19th anytime between 2 and 4 p.m. Maxwell Park is located at the intersection of Gregory St. and Parkside Rd., next to Normal Community West High School.
