*THE EVENT HAS BEEN RESCHEDULED DUE TO WEATHER – SATURDAY, MAY 11TH AT 9 AM.
The 11th Annual Tulip 5k for a Cure is scheduled for Saturday, May 11th at 9 a.m. As in previous years, the race will be held at White Oak Park in Bloomington.
Everyone says that huge events can stop time…Kennedy assassination, Challenger explosion, 9/11, everyone can remember what they were doing when news of those events surfaced. April 19, 2008 is one of those days for me. It was the day I lost my mom to pancreatic cancer…. She battled this unforgiving cancer for 6 long and short months, before it took her. The pain for my family has yet to go away, and we are not sure if it ever will.
This suffering has to end, for those who are diagnosed with the disease, and for those who have lost or will lose loved ones from this disease. Each year, more and more Americans are diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer, and each year more and more Americans die from this deadly cancer. We can make a difference, even if only creating awareness.
Over the last 11 years we have raised over $36k for the Siteman Cancer Center in St. Louis, MO, and more specifically, their pancreatic cancer research and treatment team – which treats patients right here in the Midwest.
Please join us on Sunday April 14th at White Oak Park in Bloomington, IL for the 11th Annual Tulip 5k Walk/Run for a Cure to benefit the Siteman Cancer Center Pancreatic Cancer unit. Race begins at 1pm.
Registration fee is: $25 prior to March 20th; $30 after March 20th and Race Day. T-shirt is guaranteed if registration is received by March 20th, otherwise it is first come first serve.
